November Chapter Gathering Recap

Lou Wipotnik And ArnieOn November 12 we had a really neat chapter gathering. Our guest was Lou Wipotnik, CFI. Lou is a really neat guy. He is 83 years old, and still very active in flying. With over 16,000 hours of experience, he holds an impressive array of pilot ratings, and was recognized as National CFI of the Year back in 1996. In 2016 he was inducted into the Illinois Aviation Hall of Fame. Lou has a lot of energy, and gave us a very comprehensive presentation on “Ice and Winter Flying”. It was the perfect conversation piece to help prepare us for the winter flying months. We all enjoyed his presentation. To top things off, many attendees earned a knowledge credit for the FAA WINGS proficiency program. Afterward many folks stayed for some great fellowship, and an enjoyable lunch that included homemade chili and deli sandwiches. Many thanks to Lou for the time he spent with us!
