President Report – Arnie Quast
Greetings EAA 932 Chapter Members,

Here comes summer!  May flew by really quick!  We had another well attended chapter gathering on May 14th.  Chapter member Dan Johnson provided a great presentation on emergency landing preparedness, and Civil Air Patrol Leader Tom DeMaer gave us a testimonial of what it is like to experience an actual forced landing with a safe outcome.  All very real world information on something none of us hope to experience in our flying careers.  Many thanks to Dan and Tom for putting together this very informative gathering.  After the gathering we enjoyed a barbeque lunch, and flew Young Eagles flights for a few of our recent Build and Fly participants.  Myself and chapter member Kevin Dick conducted the flights. As the month continued, we had a fly out scheduled on May 21, but it got cancelled due to weather.

Our next flyout will be on Saturday July 16th.  The plan is to fly up to Washington Island, Wisconsin for a fish boil lunch.  Look for details in the coming weeks.  As we capped off May, we hosted a pancake breakfast for United and American Airlines pilots belonging to the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA), and Allied Pilots Association (APA).  We have been doing this for many years, and once again it was a great success.  The two unions gave us a very generous donation to support our chapter.  Special thanks to chapter member Eric Rehm for organizing it, and to all of our chapter members that volunteered to support the event!

As we ease into June, our next gathering will be on June 11th.  Instead of meeting at Galt, we will have a private viewing of the hit movie Top Gun II at the Classic Cinema in Woodstock at 12:00 noon.

On June 18, Barnstormer Day is coming back to Galt.  We have not hosted this event since 2019.  Barnstormer Day is an “all hands on deck” effort as we showcase our chapter and Galt Airport to our local community.  This will be a fun event, but we need HELP from as many chapter members as possible to make this event run smooth.  Please consider volunteering a little bit of time to make this a successful day.  Again email Stephanie McClellan at stephanie@eaa932.org  to sign up for a volunteer slot.

June will be another fast moving month.  Take the time to enjoy the warm weather, and thanks for being a part of our EAA 932 community.  Fly safe, and I’ll see all of you around the airport!
