Ray Aviation Scholarship News

Now that the 2020 Ray Scholar is now a pilot, the chapter is pleased to announce Chase Kocken as the 2021 Ray Scholarship recipient!

Chase has been around the airport for years and has participated in many of the activities of the chapter. Chase is currently a 17 year old senior at Wilmot Union High School in Wilmot and is well underway in his flight training. He began flying in the summer of 2020, but got delayed with the pandemic. He eagerly got right back into flight training this past summer and is currently training with Beth Rehm. Chase first soloed in July 2021 and is continuing to fly, balancing it with his schooling and sports. He is very interested in attending the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND where he toured their facilities and programs, specifically their aviation department. His flight plan is to become a pilot for a major airline.  Right now he’s focused on flying and finishing high school.  Watch for his regular updates in Galt Traffic to follow how he’s doing!
