One of our local Galt pilots flew my wife, Jaime and I on our recent vacation to Maui, Hawaii! We were pleasantly surprised to have Arnie Quast as our Captain on the United Airlines Boeing 787-8 that we flew on from Chicago to Maui! Once we got there we were off to enjoy a week of fun on Maui.
We had a fantastic idea. Why not fly when on vacation? Maui is an awesome place to visit, but the views from the sky are even better. Pictures do not do justice of how amazing this experience was for us. Flying out of the Kahului (PHOG) class C in a Cessna 172 was made easy with a CFI on board from Maui Aviators. Seeing some of the largest sea cliffs in the world, and landing on the island of Molokai at Kalaupapa was very different than flying in the upper Midwest that we are all used to. Driving to the town of Hana takes several hours due to the many one-way bridges and switchback turns, but we made it there in no time in the 172 and landed at the Hana airport. Do not hesitate if you are visiting Maui to go take a flight, it was well worth it! Maui Aviators makes it easy and fun.
